'RISK' - The big picture
Andrew Rose
Andrew
specialises in the risk field, primarily in encouraging organisations and
industries, individually and as a whole, to better understand their
risk. This includes working
internationally to find common approaches for the
measurement of risk performance and helping organisations find innovative
and effective ways to measure and visualise their risk performance.
After 25 years working in the aviation industry Andrew, like many
others, is increasingly convinced that the key to a better understanding of
risk is in effectively turning data into knowledge and working together
across the industry to build a shared knowledge of how the system is
performing.
Andrew has
spent the last 10 years in the aviation risk domain most recently as Head of
Safety Strategy Development and Head Risk Analysis at NATS; the UK Air
traffic services provider.
Before moving to NATS in 2007, Andrew was an Air Safety Manager with British
Airways where he specialised in the development of risk indicators and data
fusion. Prior to concentrating
in the risk domain Andrew, who is a Chartered Engineer, was a design
engineer in various technical departments at British Airways.
